The rule of 3

This month I am not so much swapping 'things' but more swapping behaviours. I call it the Rule Of 3.

If you have been reading through this blog of late you have probably picked up that I am a classic over indulger, a consumer, a BINGER!

I binge on anything from junk food and sugary treats to Netflix, alcohol, even shopping!

I am an all or nothing kind of gal and my biggest trigger = 'severe stress' can throw me into a downward spiral of distracted eating, slothing about and over indulging that could put Honey Boo Boo's mum June Shannon to shame.

Accept my shame spiral doesn't look nearly as fun!

Everyone needs to indulge and relax every once in a while, don't get me wrong, but its the anxiety and guilt post binge that really gets to me. It's a habit that has to be curbed.

So I have decided to make a rule for myself to follow. I can buy sweets if I must, but only 3. I can watch episodes of my favourite TV show on Netflix if I wish to unwind and relax but no more than 3 in a row. I can order take away but no more than 3 items. I can go clothes shopping but... you guessed it, no more than 3 things at a time.

I have failed in the past because I put so much pressure on myself to be perfect. To never break or bend or indulge. Restricting myself like that just leads to pressure and stress and then BAM I'm spiralling out of control again!

This way with a few limitations and a whole lot of discipline I can have my indulgence without going off the deep end.
