Good bye and Good ridden!

I know it sounds silly but this month I could only handle shedding one bad habit - My ex boyfriend! We actually broke up amicably just before I went away with my family to Argentina over the Christmas / New Year break. But since then he has been in contact. And it didn't end well.

As we have many mutual friends it was always bound to happen. But fellas - if you are reading this and have recently broken up with a lady because of your career or your dreams - which didn't include her. Just leave well enough alone. Don't try and become 'mates' - she has already been generous enough parting ways amicably and without pointing blame. Let her heal and move on. You can't have your cake and eat it too. Not without causing some serious misinterpretations resulting in confrontation. Well that's my two cents anyway...

So this month I am giving up toxic men! Toxic, selfish, uncompromising men - And swapping them for... 70% Dark Chocolate! YIPPEE!

The best bit though is that Chocolate has been proven to help during a break up - it not only increases levels of the calming neurotransmitter serotonin in the brain. It also contains small amounts of a compound called phenylethylamine, which acts like an amphetamine, stimulating your brain cells to release dopamine. The same chemical that you release when you are in love.

However not all chocolate is created equal. And as I gave up sugar when I first began eating LCHF last year, I couldn't just hoe into a block of dairy milk everyday without devastating results.

70% Dark Chocolate on the other hand is very low in sugar (I prefer Stevia sweetened brands) and contains large amounts of Cocoa! Plus you only need a very little to go a long way.

But what's so good about Cocoa?

Well Cocoa contains antioxidants that help prevent cellular damage. The particular antioxidants in cocoa include flavonoids such as procyanidins and epicatechins. Flavonoids can reduce the risk of heart disease by increasing vascular tone and improving arterial blood flow, and by acting as anticoagulants, which prevent blood clot formation.

So I can not only comfort myself and heal my broken emotional heart, I can literally heal my heart and reduce my risk of heart disease, all at the same time.

Yey for 70% dark chocolate!  This doesn't mean I am off all men forever. Just toxic men! For at least a month haha.
